HOW ONLINE LESSONS WORK
My lessons are carried out via Google Meet. It is a very simple process, I will send you a link prior to your first lesson which you can use to join the call at your lesson time each week. In order to access the call using the link you just need to log into your Google Account. When teaching children under the age of 18 I ask that they have a parent or guardian nearby, either in the same room or in a neighbouring room with the door open for safeguarding purposes.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
FOR UKULELE LESSONS
For my ukulele lessons you will need a ukulele, a ukulele tuner, a device to join the Google Meet call, and ideally a second device to play backing tracks from. I make my own digital ukulele beginners resources so you will not need to buy any books to begin with.
FOR SINGING LESSONS
All you will need for singing lessons is a device to join the Google Meet call and ideally a second device to play backing tracks from. I will provide my own digital resources for your lessons to begin with, so you will not need to buy any books straight away.
FOR PIANO LESSONS
For my online piano lessons you will need a piano or keyboard, a device to join the Google Meet call, and if possible a second device to play backing tracks from every so often. I will let you know before your first lesson if you need to buy any books or other resources.
FOR PUBLIC SPEAKING LESSONS
For my online public speaking lessons you will just need a device to join the Google Meet call. I will provide the lesson resources unless you have something specific you would like to work on with me.

A BIT ABOUT EXAMS
If you are interested in working towards and entering exams, I am more than happy to help. For ukulele I use the RSL awards exam board as it is a great course for learning a variety of valuable skills, having a choice of musical styles, and providing great backing tracks which make playing more fun. The RSL awards exam board also has ukulele exams all the way from Debut to Grade 8 which is not currently the case for most other ukulele exam boards.
For piano and singing I offer a choice of exam boards, either RSL awards or ABRSM. The RSL exam courses contain more contemporary music, primarily pop, whereas the ABRSM exam board has a greater focus on classical, jazz and musical theatre. I am happy to advise but it is ultimately up to the student which exam board they would rather use.
For public speaking I use LAMDA Verse & Prose exams. In these exams you prepare a mixture of poems and book passages, as well as learning the appropriate knowledge to answer questions on the texts you recite and on correct public speaking techniques. It is a really good well rounded exam syllabus that is also very well-known and respected.
